A steam locomotive is fueled by burning combustible material to produce steam in its boiler. Steam is water in the gas phase, which forms when water boils. Science and nature have unique way of working together harmoniously to change our view of things. The day before the excursion of Pere Marquette #1225 was marked with heavy storms in Michigan; resulting in "Lake Owosso" the morning of March 14, 2015. As its crew prepared the famed steam-era icon at dawn's blue light, the engine casts a near perfect reflection across still waters of passing rain.
