The Torrance Viaduct. Only one place on the entire Pacific Electric did the tracks cross over themselves on a railroad-owned bridge or viaduct. That location was in Torrance, near the main shops, the Torrance station, the Union Tool Company, and the Columbia Steel Mill. Because of the geography of the area, access to the steel mill was best accomplished with the viaduct. A spur off of the main line would have been quite steep and difficult to negotiate with a string of loaded cars.
